Entries for the 2008 Marathon Relay close on Friday 8th August 2008 at 5.00pm, get your entries in now to ensure your place.

NEWS - NEW COURSE ANNOUNCED FOR LONGFORD HALF-MARATHON.

Following feedback from previous years, this years Half Marathon Course has been changed. The new course will start and finish at the same location as previous years on Ballymahon Street. As before there will be a lap of the town, then left onto Killashee street, out the Killashee road as far as Clonterim, where it will turn right and head across to the Strokestown Road. Left onto the Strokestown road and out as far as Flancare park, where it will turn right and head to Newtown-forbes and then back into Longford, down the Battery Road and finish on Ballymahon Street.

NEWS - LONGFORD MARATHON 2008 NOW INCLUDES A MARATHON RELAY EVENT.

This year, we have added a 4 leg Village to Village Marathon Relay event to the calendar for our weekend. Starting at the same time and location as the Marathon & Half Marathon, and following the same course as the Full Marathon, the Relay will allow teams of 4 people to compete in the Full Marathon. Stages 1, 2 and 3 will be approximately 7.5 miles (12Km) and the final stage will be approximately 4.5 miles (6Km). Stage 1 will be from the starting point to Tarmonbarry, Stage 2 will be from Tarmonbarry to Rooskey, stage 3 will be from Rooskey to Newtown-forbes and Stage 4 will be from Newtown-forbes back to the finish line at Longford.

Entry fee for a team of 4 people will be 100 euro before August 1st 2008 and 120 euro from August 1st 2008.
